International Organization for
Standardization (ISO)
Since 2003, IntegriGuard
has maintained its prestigious certification from ISO-9001:2000, which
ensures
continual compliance with the highest quality standards in all work performed.
ISO (International
Organization for Standardization) is the world's largest international
multi-part
QMS standard that demonstrates an organization's capability and
commitment to quality.
The ISO 9001:2000 QMS
standard is a well-written document outlining commonly accepted
procedures for
the assurance of quality activities and the related QMS in which is based on
results,
leadership, customer satisfaction, and planning as well as on internal
control of processes related
to quality.
URAC Independent Review
Organization
Since April 2005, IntegriGuard has enjoyed
URAC full accreditation under
the Independent Review Organization (IRO)
Standards.
URAC’s mission is to promote continuous
improvement in the quality and
efficiency healthcare delivery by achieving a
common understanding of
excellence among purchasers, providers, and patients
through the
establishment of standards, programs, of education and
communications,
and a process of accreditation.
Core standards, the foundation of URAC
accreditation, address several key organizational
functions, including
organizational structure, staff qualifications, training and management,
oversight of delegated activities, quality management, and consumer protection.
URAC-IRO standards assure that
organizations that perform this service are free from conflicts of
interest,
establish qualifications for physician reviewers, address medical necessity and
experimental treatment issues, have reasonable time periods for standard and
expedited reviews,
and appeals processes.
An organization with this URAC
accreditation strives for a fair and impartial review process that is
of benefit
to both patients and physicians with grievances. The National Association of
Independent Review Organizations has issued a position statement urging state
and federal
recognition of the URAC standards to promote consistency and
fairness for both patients and
employers.
